QUETTA - Educationist Professor Fazl-e-Haq Mir on Sunday remained safe in an attempt on his life by armed assailants in the Eastern Bypass area here.According to police‚ Tameer-e-Nau Public College Principal Prof Fazl-e-Haq Mir was on his way when unidentified armed men sprayed a volley of bullets on his vehicle at Eastern Bypass on the outskirts of Quetta, but he remained safe, however, a roadside vendor, identified as Muhammad Nabi, received serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to hospital.The assailants fled after targeting the car of Fazl-e-Haq Mir. The police have started to trace the culprits. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. It is worth mentioning that Professor Fazl Bari, principal of the same college, was killed by armed men in 2010.Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi has strongly condemned the murder attempt on Professor Fazl-e-Haq and directed the law-enforcement agencies to arrest the culprits as soon as possible. He said people like Fazl-e-Haq were an asset to Balochistan and their security was responsibility of the law-enforcers.
