College sets up students counselling cell




RAWALPINDI – Punjab government has decided to establish students counselling cells in all the government colleges of the province to understand and resolve the educational, psychological and social problems of the students.
In this connection, a 25-member student counselling cell has been established in Government Post Graduate College Satellite Town, Rawalpindi headed by Senior Professor of Psychology Department, Rubina Qureshi. Eight students have also been included in the counseling cell.
An event titled ‘Students Counseling Cell’ was arranged in Government Post graduate College for Women Satellite Town in this regard. Director Colleges, Professor Humayun Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal of the college, Samar Zahra, founder of the college magazine, Samia Toufail and In-charge Media Cell Asma and other teachers were also present.
The chief guest, while speaking on the occasion, said that the parents might also be included in the counseling cell, if needed.
 He further said that the counseling cells would be helpful in resolving problems of the students that had normally remained unattended.
