Factories in Rawal Town irk residents

RAWALPINDI - Factories located in Rawal Town, Rawalpindi, are making life of the local residents uncomfortable.
Sources said around 130 factories are located in the limits of Rawal town causing environmental and noise pollution here. Despite the problems faced by Rawal town residents, the staff of Tehsil Municipal Administration is acting as a silent spectator and has done nothing to attend to the plight of the affected population. According to the survey conducted recently by TMA, Rawal town, paint-making factories are situated on Kurri Road, factories making plastics are located in Dhok Dalal, shoe-factories in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, while factories of furniture and other goods are operating in Bangash colony, Pir Wadhai road, Haji road, Hazara colony, Mohanpura, Dhok Ratta, Jamia Masjid Road and Amarpura.  The building inspectors have handed over the list of the factories to Town Officer (P&C).

Citizens are of the view that making the lists of these factories is only a formality and TMA has not taking any concrete steps to resolve the issue.
