KARACHI – The Anti-Violent Crime Cell claimed to have killed an alleged kidnapper in a shootout in Gulshan-e-Maymar area and recovered a minor boy from their custody on Sunday.  Officials said a team of AVCC managed to reach the kidnapper’s hideout in Brohi Goth after tracing his location. The officials said the six-year-old boy, namely Usman, a resident of Sultanabad area of Keamari, was kidnapped by a rickshaw driver on his way to school on Friday. Usman’s father, a businessman, was asked to pay Rs20 million as ransom money for the release of his son. The family later informed the police. The officials said the kidnapper opened fire at the police party on its arrival. In retaliation, police also fired and killed him. The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
