SC orders to maintain CNG price till Dec 20

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered to maintain the current price of compressed natural gas (CNG) till December 20.
During proceedings of the CNG price case, the apex court ordered the government to issue pricing policy guidelines. The Supreme Court also directed OGRA and the government to resolve the CNG issue. Meanwhile CNG station owners were directed to submit their audited accounts to OGRA.
The lawyer for OGRA, Salman Akram informed the apex court that the price determined in meetings between the CNG association and station owners would be presented in the federal cabinet on Tuesday. Akram added that Rs73.96 per kilo had been recommended for Region 1 while Rs65.50 per kilo had been recommended for Region 2.
The court also summoned the record of sectors receiving the gas subsidy from then Petroleum Ministry.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 20.
