Chef sacked for demanding Xmas day off

London (MOL): A disgruntled head chef who claims he was fired for requesting Christmas Day off last night hijacked his restaurant's Twitter account to shame his boss. Jim Knight, 28, used the official Twitter account for the Plough Inn pub in Great Haseley, Oxford, to inform its 2,200 followers he had been sacked. He then sent a series of Tweets alleging that he was fired a week before Christmas for asking for time off.
Mr Knight tweeted: 'We'd like to inform you that we've just fired our head chef'. Minutes later he added: 'Unfortunately he wanted to have a weekend off this month and Christmas Day this year for family commitments so we thought we'd sack him.'
