The number of stray dogs in the federal capital is increasing at an alarming level. A major reason is that the authorities are virtually doing nothing while more and more garbage dumps and food dumping sites near hotels offer them plenty of food to grow and thrive.

Dog bites are being reported which is a cause for serious concern because they spread dangerous diseases such as Rabies. But that is not all; the howling of dogs at night terrifies the residents; many no longer feel safe while venturing out by nightfall. Although CDA has recently done some developmental work but this growing dog population is raising questions on their credibility and tall claims. Garbage dumps must be disposed off while suitable arrangements must be made to secure the residents from the growing numbers of stray dogs.
