Islamabad - Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Maroof Afzal has assured the trade community of addressing its problems.
A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) met Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal here at CDA headquarter on Tuesday. The delegation assured full cooperation of ICCI in flourishing the business activities in Islamabad while issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting. The delegation while informing about the problems being faced by the business community in Islamabad told the chairman that business community was facing issues extension in the lease of class–III shopping centres, issues of trade licences and others.
The chairman CDA assured the delegation that CDA would not only consider the genuine problems of the traders but will also take concrete steps to resolve those issues. He said that CDA recognised the role of traders in the development of Islamabad and was taking solid steps for resolving the long-standing problems being faced by the traders. He said that CDA was providing the traders of Islamabad with different facilities, which would help increase business activities in Islamabad.
The chairman CDA said that in order to facilitate the residents of the federal capital, particularly the traders, the CDA had started construction of two underground parking plazas at F-7 Markaz, which will help resolve the parking issues of the busy business hub of the city. He said that after the completion of this project, parking plazas would also be constructed in other areas of the city. He said that One Window Operation Directorate was being upgraded on modern lines and was being equipped with latest technologies so that the residents of Islamabad could be served in a better way and the problems faced by the citizens during transfer of their properties could be minimised. Similarly, he said that CDA had also initiated the project for construction of citizen facilitation centre at Jasmine Road, G-7.
The facilitation centre being constructed on 2500 square yards will provide the residents all the facilities under one roof and problems and complaints pertaining to IESCO, SNGPL, passport, license, NADRA would be resolved there.
