ISLAMABAD - US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson Tuesday visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and donated blood, expressing solidarity with the victims of Peshawar incident.

PRCS Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi, Secretary General Dr Mahboob Sardar and Assistant Secretary General M Ateeb Siddiqui received the ambassador at the National Headquarters.

Speaking on the occasion, the ambassador appreciated the response of the Red Crescent to the incident. He said that the whole American public and government are with their Pakistani brethrens at this crucial time. He said that Pakistan is rendering great sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

The chairman informed the Ambassador that the PRCS has dispatched over 250 blood bags to different hospitals of the Peshawar in the wake of the deadly attack. The PRCS has also dispatched a mobile blood van along with a team of doctors to facilitate blood collection drive while the PRCS KP branch ambulances, doctors and volunteers are helping in rescuing and shifting bodies and injured to different hospitals.

Secretary General Dr Mahboob Sardar said that the PRCS is also taking part in rescue operations, and volunteers have been asked to donate blood for the victims. He said that the four medical teams from NHQ, KP and FATA branches are providing rescue and medical support to the victims.
