Pakistan is the most dangerous place for practicing journalism in the world. Journalists working in conflict areas are often targeted by militants/terrorist so it has become difficult for them to work in a secure atmosphere. Attacks on journalists in Pakistan are clear evidence of how critical the situation is. In Pakistan the journalists are killed, unjustly detained, threatened by militants, tribal and feudal lords, as well as by some political parties. Free media promotes democracy, transparency and accountability and it is essential for safety and security of journalist that the government and civil society joints hands to devise a mechanism for ensuring the safety of journalists.
