Contempt of parliament?

It has been reported in a section of Press that the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said in his defense that it would amount to contempt of Parliament if he wrote a letter against the President to Swiss authorities as required by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. This strange logic indicates that the PM has introduced a new jargon of “Contempt of Parliament” which is extra-constitutional and would need a 21st amendment to write it down in the constitution. The wayward flight of thought taken by the PM creates a gulf of anti-judiciary feelings, which can cause irreparable loss to the country due to his self-centred remarks with no relevance to rule of law in Pakistan. PM’s loyalty to his party rather than the Constitution can spell disaster for the nation as the PM is posing to be the final interpreter or destroyer of the Constitution while the Apex Court is the final interpreter and arbiter of the constitution. This point ought to sink in the psyche of the PM to steer the nation on the right course.
