Child dies after falling into manhole

LAHORE  - A two year old boy, Zain, died after falling into an open manhole while plying in Sharifpura Mohalla of Baghbanpura on Sunday.
Locals were able to find and pull out the body of the kid after six extensive hours of search.
A large number of people gathered on the spot and blocked the Ring road for hours.
Demonstrators refused to talk to the police, saying that they would continue their protest until concerned authorities took notice of the incident. The protesters demanded of the government that all manholes should be covered with proper lids while shouting slogans against WASA.
Zain went missing just after moments he went out to play. On parents being alerted, a neighbor spotted the body of the two year old in the gutter. Locals with no assistance from the authorities pulled out the body of the child after a lengthy six hour search.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shareef took notice of the incident and sought report in this regard. Chief Minister expressed dismay over the murder of the two year old child and directed police to hold a fair inquiry of the incident. DIG Operations has said that TMO concerned was responsible of the incident and a case should be registered against him.
