Man kills estranged wife, mother, father-in-law

Ten persons including six women were killed and 30 others injured in different incidents of violence and road accidents over the past 24 hours.
According to details, in Sheikhupura, a man gunned down his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law over a domestic issue here in nearby village Ghazi Mud Wala in the remit of Housing Colony Police in the early hours of Sunday.
According to details, Ramzan alias Jani Odh contracted second marriage which annoyed his first wife Lubna Bibi and she settled with her parents. However, Ramzan went to his in-laws house to reconcile his wife and bring her back. He talked to his wife and her parents but they did not agree to let their daughter return. At which Ramzan flared up and opened indiscriminate firing, killing his wife Lubna, mother-in-law Zehra Bibi and father-in-law Bashir Ahmad. The Housing Colony Police have started investigation after registration of a case.
In Vehari, six persons including four women were killed and 27 others injured in a traffic accident here on Luddon Road.
According to details, a Faisalabad-bound bus coming from Fortabbas while saving a motorcycle MNU/9379, went out of control due to speeding and overturned. Resultantly six persons including four women were killed on the spot. The dead included the motorcyclist identified as Mumtaz Ahmad and his wife Khatoon Bibi, resident of Chak 35/WB. While 27 others including women were injured who were shifted to DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122 and volunteers of Al-Khidmat Foundation and Falah-e-Insaniat foundation.
Meanwhile, in Hafizabad, a villager in Thatha Lunghar was shot dead by eight villagers as the deceased advised them not to make hullabaloo under the influence of liquor.
The police have registered a case against Basharat, Nasir Ali, Arshid, Ejaz, Nazir Iqbal, Tariq and two others.
According to police source, the accused under the influence of liquor were making hue and cry and using filthy language when the deceased Hamayun S/o Zulifqar advised them not to use filthy language and hue and cry but they also hurled threats of dire consequences. Thereupon, harsh words were exchanged between the deceased and the accused, who allegedly opened firing on him as a result of which Hamayun was killed on-the-spot.
