rawalpindi - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja ordered transfers of some six cops including two officers for their involvement in harbouring criminals and gangsters in Sadiqabad area on the directives of Inspector/Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Sadiqabad, Malik Allah Yar.

The regional police chief also issued orders for transfer/posting of 8 other police officers, informed RPO Office spokesman yesterday.

According to him, RPO Wisal Fakhar had initiated special inquiry against a team of cops, including Inspector Malik Allah Yar, who have been involved in high-level corruption and patronising gangsters and criminals for ulterior motives in Sadiqabad area. In light of the inquiry report, he added, the RPO first wrote a letter to CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi to show Inspector Allah Yar the door and replace him with some honest officer. In the second phase, the RPO while taking strict action transferred two Sub-Inspectors Zafar and Atif from Rawalpindi to Attock while directed Head Constable Asif Farooq, Head Constable Badar Munir and Constable Mahtab Ahmed and Constable Khalid Mehmood to join duty in Chakwal. The group of the cops was hands in gloves with Inspector Malik Allah Yar in operating criminal and dacoit gangs in Sadiqabad area, he added.

Similarly, four cops Mehbood Hussain, Atif Hussain, Rizwan Raza and Imran Ashraf have been transferred from Attock and posted in Chakwal.

In a separate order, the RPO transferred Inspector Amir Khan from Rawalpindi and posted him in Attock while Inspector Basharat Ahmed was called in Rawalpindi from Attock, the spokesman added.

Taking notice on a public complaint, SI Nadeem Hussain has been transferred from anti-corruption cell to Rawalpindi whereas SI Sikandar Hayyat has been transferred from Chakwal to Rawalpindi.
