International moot begins at IUB

BAHAWALPUR-The 6th International Conference on Semiconductor Material and Nano-Devices began at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

IUB Vice Chancellor Dr Qaiser Mushtaq was the chief guest of the inaugural session. As many as 112 delegates including 4 from China, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Korea are participating in the conference being held in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission.

The vice chancellor in his address said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur had a distinct record of achievements in the field of teaching, training and research. It has always been active in establishing collaborative linkages with reputed industries, international academic institutions for achieving excellence. During the last three years, 12 international conferences have been organised, he said.

The Islamia University Bahawalpur being at 11th position in higher education institutions has been playing significant role to help the society of the region by capacity building of the faculty and students. The University provides quality education in natural and social sciences and encourage the researchers by awarding rewards and incentives, he said. The IUB graduates are serving the humanity in all fields at national and international institutions, he added.

He hoped that the conference would make significant contribution to the achievements of scientific knowledge in the areas of semiconductor and nano materials. Earlier, Dr Asghar Hashmi, Dean Faculty of Sciences and Principal organiser, thanked the national and international delegates for attending the conference.
