Lesco chief for better services to consumers

LAHORE -  Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Chief Executive Officer Mujahid Pervaiz Chatha has urged the workers to make every effort to provide better services to the electricity consumer.

He was addressing a conference of Electricity/Wapda workers presided over by Khurshid Ahmed general secretary at Bakhtiar Labour Hall on Friday.

He offered monetary incentives to workers for preventing theft of electricity and recovering lawful dues from the consumers. He declared that the management had been making every effort to prevent accidents of the workers at workplace and would ensure them safe working conditions. He asked them to get fully observed safety regulations and safeguard their lives.

Khurshid Ahmed urged the management to extend all support and assistances and adequate equipment to the field staff to ensure safe working conditions for prevention of the accident and overcome the serious shortage of field staff with rising quantum of work and retirement of the old hand to ease the heavy burden of work upon the serving staff and also demanded that anomalies of pay scale of the electricity staff may be removed and the management should ensure to provide free standard education to the children of the employees as well as housing and medical facilities to the workers in this inflationary days.

He declared that the workers would spare no effort to raise productivity of the national public utility and provide better services to the consumers.
