NAB failed to find evidence against me: Nawaz

FAWAD APPEARS BEFORE NAB

Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad on Friday appeared before the Investigation Team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore and recorded his statement in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.

It is pertinent to mention here that former DG Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Khan Cheema was also supposed to appear before NAB on Friday but he did not turn up.

NAB had summoned Fawad on Thursday but he appeared on Friday instead and during his appearance, he was grilled by the anti-graft watchdog’s investigation team pertaining to his alleged involvement in awarding a contract to a firm in violation of laws in Punjab Land development Company (PLDC).

The Prime Minister’s aide was given a questionnaire and asked him to appear again on Monday. On Wednesday, the anti-graft watchdog had summoned the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister as a witness.

The order issued on behalf of NAB Lahore’s Director General stated that the inquiry against PLDC and LDA officials among others “has revealed that you are in possession of information/evidence regarding award and cancellation of contract in respect of Ashiana-e-Iqbal Project launched by Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC)”.
