LAHORE Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that the Pakistan Army is single-minded in its professional pursuits. Addressing Pak Army officers at Lahore Garrison here Saturday, General Kayani said the Army is totally focused and motivated in accomplishment of its core mission. The Army Chief also dilated upon some important issues relating to operations and training in his address. During his visit to the Garrison, the Army Chief also approved launching of new phase of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) which had been planned to provide residential plots to junior commissioned officers and havaldars of the Army. This is in line with the Armys policy to acknowledge their sacrifices and to provide them better quality of life. Later, the CAOS also attended the inauguration of CMH Lahore Medical College which was performed by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. A large number of serving and retired officers attended the event. On arrival in Lahore, General Kayani was received by Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Ijaz Ahmad Bakhshi.
