US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has arrived in Haiti to inspect the damage left by the massive earthquake which hit the country on Tuesday. Mrs Clinton arrived in the capital Port-au-Prince on a US Coast Guard C-130 transport plane carrying bottled water, packaged food, soap and other supplies. She later met with Haitian President Rene Preval and promised America's quake relief efforts would be closely co-ordinated with local officials. Her remarks appeared designed to counter any notion of a too-intrusive American involvement in the aftermath of the quake, while also assuring Haitians the humanitarian mission would continue as long as it is needed.
