National Proficiency Testing services in Pakistan
LAHORE (PR): The EU-funded Trade Related Technical Assistance (TRTA II) Programme, implemented by UNIDO in association with International Trade Centre (ITC) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), launched the National Proficiency Testing services in collaboration with the National Physical and Standards Laboratory (NPSL) of Pakistan. These services are being launched as part of the efforts by the Ministry of Science and Technology to strengthen the Quality Infrastructure of Pakistan. The conference was conducted in a local hotel.  The chief guest of the occasion was Dr. Sania Nishtar (SI), former Federal Minister Science & Technology.

MCB Bank selects Oracle WebLogic Suite

Karachi (PR): MCB Bank Ltd. (MCB) has selected Oracle WebLogic Suite 12c to help maximize its ROI from its new core banking application, while enabling faster online banking services and supporting future growth.
MCB has opted to upgrade its core banking system in order to help minimize system downtime and support its rapidly growing online business. MCB needed to enhance the system efficiency because it has been processing more than 400,000 transactions for retail and corporate banking services on daily basis that is estimated to grow around 1 million per day, over the period of next two to three years.

Ufone ‘Honesty’ initiative

LAHORE (PR): Ufone has further strengthened its position as a transparent and honest operator through “Hisaab SMS” service.
A common complaint by customers in the telecommunication sector is that they are subjected to various ‘hidden charges’ for different services. They also complain about the numerous taxes and additional costs they have to pay without knowing what they have been charged for.  Considering the customers’ concerns, Ufone has launched a new product feature free of cost that will send a daily charging summary of all the charges deducted from the customer’s balance (on previous day) to all Ufone users.
