Privatisation issues

The previous government privatized Pakistan telecommunication company and the government failed to recover $800m from the company even after six years. The previous as well as current governments have failed to get the amount despite numerous attempts. Moreover the rights of the forty thousand ex-employees have been usurped by the company by not allowing increases announced by the Government as determined in SPA (Share Purchase Agreement). These elderly retired civil servants had served the country in Pakistan Telegraphs and Telephone Department but now they have been slaughtered by the privatization of the company. These points may be considered before privatizing more organisations in the interest of the country as well as their employees.
