Lahore- People suffer from severe shortage of petrol across Lahore and other cities of Punjab on the fifth consecutive day today.
Due to the shortage the Edhi ambulance service has stopped its operations and only four vehicles of Rescue 1122 are operational in the city. The tempers of citizens have also started to rise due to the crisis and various verbal brawls have been reported at the petrol pumps.
Yesterday, Federal Minister for Water and Power, Defence Khawaja Asif said the government was taking significant steps to address the issue of the shortage of petrol in the country. The minister said government has started to pay the debt of Pakistan State Oil (PSO). The state institutions are under debt of Rs. 200 billion, he added.
