ISLAMABAD - Fimcotex Industries has decided to set up 35 Mega Watt captive power plant in Pakistan by using 12 GE Jenbacher gas engine units, one of the largest of its kind in Pakistan while it would be established at Kotri, Hyderabad.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fimcotex Industries Masood Pervez said that this is an important project for Fimcotex and for the wider community and the electricity generated will not only be utilised to run Fimcotex’s textile mill but surplus generation sufficient to power approximately 2,500 Pakistani households will also be fed into the grid of the local utility, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), helping to meet a part of the energy demand and supply gap in the country.  He said that delivery of the first five units will take place in the first half of 2015 and GE will also provide Fimcotex with Material Stream Agreement (MSA) support for 90,000 operating hours.
