Islamabad- Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has said import of petrol has started on the Karachi port and ongoing petrol crisis in Punjab will be controlled within a day or two.

PSO sources said a ship loaded with 50000 metric tons petrol has anchored at Karachi shipyard from Middle East and in loading process has begun.

Sources said PSO had demanded immediate payment of Rs 50 billion from finance ministry to curb prevailing petrol crisis but finance ministry had paid only Rs 17 billion. PSO sources said that Rs 200 billion are receivable from power sector and Rs 50 billion are payable to foreign supporters.
