LAHORE- Taking notice of acute shortage of petrol in Punjab; Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today convened an urgent meeting of top officials at Lahore airport, on his return from Saudi Arabia.

The prime minister directed provincial governments to stop black marketing of petrol in their respective provinces. He asked officials concerned, to accelerate supply of petrol to overcome the crisis.

Later, Prime Minister Sharif ordered that four top officials responsible for the petroleum crisis be suspended. According to reports, he ordered sacking of MD PSO Amjad Janjua, DG Oil Muhammad Azam, Secretary Petroleum Abid Saeed and Additional Secretary Petroleum Naeem Malik.
