ISLAMABAD - Ryaed Khaqan was named as emerging player of the Islamabad Tennis Complex (ITC) by former Davis Cup coach and ITC MD Fazle Subhan. Ryaed has started playing tennis at the young age of 6 and managed to win his inaugural round match of U-12 category against seasoned player and was all set to made another upset against the top seed of the U-12 category but narrowly lost the match 8-6. Talking to The Nation, Ryaed said: “I love tennis since I was only 3. I had made up my mind to play tennis and I idealised tennis great Rafeal Nadal and want to become a true legend like him. I am very much excited while learning the trade from one of the highly respectable coaches of the country Fazle Subhan and Kamran Khalil. I hope by the next 4-5 years, I would be able to achieve my target.”
