GUJRANWALA - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Tuesday to have arrested six suspects during a special crackdown on human traffickers.
According to FIA Deputy Director Mufakhir Adeel, the accused were arrested from Kamoke, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Phalia and Gujrat. They were identified as Ghulam Mustafa, Gulzar Ahmed, Qamaruz Zaman, Bilal Javed, Hanif and Imran Ali.
They were allegedly involved in sending people to European countries through illegal means. The FIA also recovered passports, visa stickers and other documents from them. Further investigation is underway.
CASE REGISTERED
Dhulley police registered a case against unidentified persons for stealing the posters placed along GT Road to welcome Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to official sources, the CM was expected to visit Gujranwala on 19th of January and local PML-N leaders had placed the welcoming posters around Aziz Cross interchange to say welcome to the CM. The other night, someone stole about 100 welcoming posters placed there and also spray the colour at various hoardings. On the complaint of brother of MPA Taufeeq Butt, Dhulley police registered a case and started investigation.
