AHMEDPUR EAST - Former leader of opposition District Council Bahawalpur Sahibzada Muhammad Umar Khan Abbasi held a meeting with PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Bilal House Lahore which lasted for three and half hours.
According to a press release issued to local media, both discussed prevailing political situation and South Punjab expected scenario in upcoming 2018 general elections.
Local political circles are giving importance to this meeting as Sahibzada Muhammad Umar Khan Abbasi's elder brother former Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sahibzada Muhammad Usman Khan Abbasi and nephew former MPA Sahibzada Muhammad Gazain Abbasi have joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
This correspondent contacted Umar Abbasi and asked him whether he would join Pakistan People's Party, grandson of last ruler of former Bahawalpur State replied that before making a decision first of all he would consult with Amir of Bahawalpur Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi and Sahibzada Muhammad Usman Abbasi and also take his supporters on board.
NEW TBA OFFICE-BEARERS
Sardar Nazar Hussein Aslam completed his second consecutive hat trick by winning presidential slot of Tehsil Bar Association.
According to the TBA election result, Sardar Nazar Hussein Aslam got 224 votes while his rival Suhail Mehmood Afgani secured 135 votes.
Similarly Mujtaba Lashari defeated his rival candidate Malik Mujibur Rehman Marral by getting 208 votes and elected as general secretary of the bar.
In a straight contest for vice presidentship, Syed Yasar Ali Bukhari got 191 votes while defeated candidate Haroon Nutkani obtained 153 votes.
Moreover, Zubair Bilal Naich and Khursheed Khan Baloch were elected as Joint Secretary and Library Secretary respectively while following ten candidates Azhar Abbas, Asim Bukhari, Abdul Ghafoor Malik, Akhtar Ali Shikrani, Kh Amjad Hussain, Shahid Tanveer Ch, M Ahsan, Ch Imran Ali, Muhammad Jamshed and Azwar Khan Khakwani have been elected as members executive committee TBA Ahmedpur East. Earlier Hafiz Ashraf Tareen was elected as Finance Secretary TBA unopposed.
