ISLAMABAD - National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the bureau's performance for the month of December 2017.
Taking notice of miserable failure of various NAB bureaus in routing pending complaint verifications to their logical conclusion within the specified period of two months, he directed them to complete the scrutiny within two months and inform the complainants about the fate of their complaints accordingly.
He directed the NAB Multan to seek clarification from officers concerned to specify reasons of their failure to complete inquiries in four months and investigations in another four months for complaint verification to filling references in respective accountability courts and sought a report within seven days.
Taking notice of slow progress of Sukkur region officials, the NAB chairman directed them to complete their inquiries within a specified period and submit a report specifying explanation of the investigative officers within seven days.
The NAB chairman also sought reports from NAB Karachi and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to explain their reasons for not concluding pending 50 cases and including 40 cases of NAB Karachi which had been pending for the last five years. He directed action against the responsible for the delay and submit the report within seven days.
