Record-holder Abid Ali promises to do best for Pakistan on his birthday

Pakistan's record-holder opening batsman Abid Ali, on the eve of his birthday, promised to do the best for his country at any level. January 16 is the birthday of record-holder batsman Abid Ali, who has honour of scoring centuries on his ODI as well as Test debuts.

While talking to The Nation Web on the occasion of his birthday, the opening batsman said: "First of all, I am grateful to Allah Almighty for all His blessings upon me and for achieving the feats, which is the result of the prayers of my parents, family, friends and fans and i am now more committed and dedicated to do the best for my team and country which gave me name and fame."

"I am working very hard on my fitness as well as my batting and I am very hopeful that if given chance against South Africa, I will deliver for my team and try to help it record crucial victories." he added. 

South Africa cricket team has arrived Pakistan for their first tour after a 14-year break and will play two Tests and three T20Is against the hosts. It is the first tour by a South African side to Pakistan since 2007 when Proteas played five ODIs and Tests in the country.
