KARACHI - The relatives of deceased PML-N Sindh Joint Secretary, Ejaz-ul-Hassan Zaidi, are still waiting financial assistance from the government and leadership of their own party. Unknown persons had killed Ejaz-ul-Hassan Zaidi Advocate, who had more than 22-year affiliation with the PML-N, on April 28 this year, outside his office at Kambel Street. He was the father of four children, including two sons and two daughters. Despite the governments assurance to the PML-N leadership, the police are so far unable to arrest the culprits involved in the murder. Faraz-ul-Hassan, elder son of deceased Ejaz-ul-Hassan, said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, during his visit of the Sindh province in May, had announced a financial assistance worth Rs 0.5 million for the bereaved family. But despite the passing of more than three months, not a single penny was paid to the heirs of the deceased. We are passing through very hard times after the killing of my father, who was the only beard-winner for the entire family, he said. Faraz further said that he had contacted authorities concerned umpteen times during the past three months but did not get a favourable response. He informed that PML-N Sindh leader Syed Ghous Ali Shah had assured him that the party would provide financial assistance to the deceased family to overcome their problems. But, unfortunately, the PML-N leadership has also failed to honour its pledge and totally ignored the family of a committed party worker, Faraz lamented.
