LAHORE - Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan has termed the Gilani-Manmohan meeting and joint communique as disappointing, saying that the mistrust between India and Pakistan would continue until the core issue of Kashmir is resolved. Talking to newsmen at Mansoora on Thursday after a meeting of the JI Central Executive Council, he said Pakistan must bring the target-killings by Indian forces in Kashmir before the world community besides its military and water terrorism against the country. The Kashmir issue should have been at the top when the two prime ministers met in Sharam el Sheikh, he opined. Munawar said India was building 62 dams on the Pakistans rivers in violation of the Indus Water Treaty for turning the country into a desert. Commenting on Zardari-Nawaz telephonic talk and their upcoming meeting, he alleged that the interaction was being held on the orders of the US and Britain. He described the two leaders as two sides of a same coin and said the nation was under no misconception in this regard. Both of them are implementing the US agenda. Nawaz Sharif is waiting for his turn and is aspiring to get back into power with the support of the US instead of the masses, he said. He said in the meeting they would discuss the ways to justify the war against terror in order to ensure more US aid. He said Mian Nawaz Sharif was least concerned about Pakistan and the foreign as well as internal policies of both these leaders were exactly the same. He went on alleging that the Mian Channu incident was pre-planned and a plot for military operation in the Punjab. He called upon Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to clarify his position in this regard. Replying to a question, he said the US had been defeated in Afghanistan and was trying to find out ways to quit that country. The US and NATO forces had suffered heavy casualties against the Taliban in Helmand because of which there was an uproar in both the countries, he maintained.
