PTI demands holding of LG elections in time

LAHORE - The executive committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab strongly condemned the postponement of local bodies election and the appointment of the administrators by replacing the present nazims, and demanded that the local bodys election should be held in time. If the situation is not favourable for the elections then the present nazims should not be replaced by the administrators, the committee further demanded. A meeting of PTI executive committee Punjab was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of provincial chief, Ahsan Rasheed. The meeting was also attended by general secretary Raja Javaid Mujtaba, senior vice president Tariq Farooq Mirza, vice president Amin Zaki, Jawaid Yaseen Watto, Shafiq Khan, secretary information Dr Shahid Siddique Khan, organiser South Punjab Ejaz Ch, organiser central Punjab Asif Khan, president Women Punjab Mrs Salonoi Bokhari, joint secretary Nadeem Qadir Bhandar, finance secretary Shoukat Ali Ch, president Lahore chapter Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Saloni Bukhari, Javaid Yaseen and many others. The meeting expressed dissatisfaction over the policies of the government, price-hike, and acute loadshedding. It also passed different resolutions unanimously in which it demanded of the government to pay IDPs their dues so that people could take a sigh of relief by making their economic condition better, which had severely been effected because of the loadshedding. The meeting also condemned the decision of 30 per cent increase in the electricity tariff and pressed the govt to start other alternative power generation methods. The PTI also expressed its concern over the problems of the Swat effectees and demanded the government to solve their problems regarding their settlement immediately. The meeting also decided to start the membership campaign throughout Punjab to make the party more strong and a strategy was also evolved accordingly.
