LAHORE - Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said that Pak-India dialogue ignoring Kashmir was a farce aimed at diverting public attention from the real issues. Pakistan Foreign Ministers accepting the Mujahideen as intruders is tantamount to rubbing salt on the Kashmiris wounds and stabbing their liberation movement in the back, he said, while addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora. Munawar said the Kashmiris were fighting Pakistans war and shedding their blood to secure lifeline. At the Islamabad talks, Pakistan Foreign Minister should have protested over the situation in Kashmir. But unfortunately, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was defensive and cowardly, and he even endorsed Indias claim of the Kashmiris being intruders and assured cooperation to New Delhi in dealing with them. He said 700,000 Indian troops were deployed in Kashmir who were carrying out unprecedented repression by way of human rights violations and the target killing of the youth. He said the Kashmir liberation movement was at its peak, curfew was continuing for weeks, newspapers were not being published, and all means of communication had been cut off, inspite of that, the Kashmiris were on roads and continuing peaceful protest. The Kashmiris had defeated Indias state terrorism under the leadership of Syed Ali Gilani. He said Indian army chiefs statement calling for a political solution to the Kashmir issue was an admission of defeat. He urged the media and the rulers to intensity a campaign for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
