‘Energetic’ swoop on energy stealers

LAHORE - Teams of District Administration, Lesco and SNGPL raided ten factories located in different parts of the city and caught eight people including a meter inspector of Lesco involved in stealing electricity and gas.
The accused had been sent behind the bars while gas generators and other equipments have been confiscated by teams.
As per details task force team raided on Al-Shafi Steal Mill Daroghawala and identified electricity theft on large scale. Task force teams arrested factory owner Muhammad Faisal and Meter Inspector Abdul Aziz. The said Factory had been stealing electricity since 2006. Similarly teams raided Rasheed Steal Mill and caught electricity theft and arrested factory owner Muhammad Rasheed and two of his sons namely Waheed Rasheed and Siddique Rasheed.
Task force conducted third raid on Data Steal Mill Momin Pura and caught gas theft. Factory owner managed to escape from the spot knowing the visit of raiding team.
Task force team also conducted raid at Ahmed Town locality and seven factories i.e. Nimko, Foundry and Ceramic were caught stealing gas from main pipeline. These factories had been sealed while cases had been registered against Aftab, Imam Bux and Muhammad Asif.
Generators and other equipments were consequently confiscated. DCO Lahore Naseem Sadiq had appreciated the action of task force team and stated that task force team would continue its operation in upcoming days.
Meanwhile, on the direction of DCO, Price Control Magistrates conducted massive raids on different shops of the city to check the quality and rates of edible items. Price Control Magistrates get arrested 30 shopkeepers involved in overcharging and imposed fine amounting Rs.5,06,900/.
The DCO stated that Price Control Magistrates should remain in market and if any shopkeeper tried to fleece citizens and found involved in overcharging, strict action should be taken against him.
