RAWALPINDI - A six-month-old infant girl died while eight other family members sustained injuries when a house collapsed due to heavy rain here at Chakra Road, informed Rescue 1122 on Wednesday. The incident took place in the limit of Police Station Naseerabad. All the injured and dead were shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where doctors provided medical treatment to the injured .
 The deceased Safira, daughter of Niaz, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. The other injured included Mahnaz, Pikhoora, Haya Jan, Imran, Arshad, Iqra, Tohaib and Tohaib.   Robberies:
The street crime is up in the areas of Police Stations Sadiqabad and New Town as armed dacoits and robbers have been targeting and looting helpless citizens round the clock while police are taking no action to protect the lives and properties of residents.
On Wednesday, the armed dacoits snatched cash, mobile phones and other valuables on gun point from two citizens including Pir Mehar Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) Deputy Director Students Affairs in broad day light.
According to sources, a citizen namely Navid Yousaf was going home located at Muslim Town after withdrawing Rs7,00,000 from Habib Bank Limited, Rehmanabad Branch when two bike riding dacoits intercepted him on gunpoint and snatched cash and fled.
The victim appeared before PS Sadiqabad and lodged complaint for legal action against the robbers. Similarly, PMAS-AAUR DD Students Affairs Dr Ghulam Hussain Babar was robbed of Rs9500, mobile phone and other important documents by two armed robbers riding on motorcycle at Gulshan-e-Dadan. Three unknown robbers committed robbery at the house of one Altaf Hussain within the limits of PS Saddar Bairooni and took away Rs2,50, 000 cash, gold ornaments, laptops, cameras and 4 mobile phones. Police took up separate cases on the applications of victims and held investigation with no arrest or recovery so far. Meanwhile, a dead body of a man was found by police from Chaklala Scheme III and shifted it to mortuary of District Headquarters Hospital.
