Shawal moon sighted in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH - Eidul Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, Japan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) today (Friday), reported private TV channels on Thursday.
According to Arab TV, meetings of moon-sighting committee were called on the appeal of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Council. The committee after receiving several acknowledgments of moon sighting from different parts of the country announced the beginning of Shawwal.
Similarly, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia also announced sighting of the Shawal moon.
The largest gathering of Eid prayers will be held in Makkah at Masjidul Harm where millions of people will perform Eid prayers.
On the other hand, the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Pakistan with its head Mufti Muneebur Rehman in chair, will meet in Karachi today for sighting of the Shawal moon. Provincial moon-sighting committees will also meet at their respective headquarters to decide about the moon sighting.
