KARACHI - The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Saturday condemned discriminate behavior of the paramilitary forces in arresting members of the political representative of the urban Sindh and avoiding arrest of influential criminal and corrupt elements from rural Sindh.  In a statement issued on Saturday, MQM spokesman said that asking for permission from the chief minister to arrest influential men from rural areas, who had snatched weapons from the paramilitary force men and made them hostage is non-understandable.  “The Rangers officials had carried out discriminate action against the MQM activists and had raided its several offices including party headquarters, 90, and the residence of MQM chief’s sister but when it came to action against influential criminals in rural areas, they are requesting for permission to arrest these men,” he said. He further said that no MQM activist had given resistance during arrest being made whether it is being made in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and other parts of the province.  “But now DG Rangers bias attitude had shown that Karachi operation was not aimed at purging city from criminals instead it is to eliminate MQM,” he said adding that it seems that there is a different law for Karachi, Hyderabad and different for Larkana. He further said that if this continues in the similar fashion, then it would be problematic for them to control the emotions of the Mohajir community.
