LAHORE: Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday suggested Opposition members to unite and forward their resignations from the assemblies.

Sheikh Rasheed said that the there was a huge difference between Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, further adding that if a coup takes place in Pakistan, the people would hit the streets having sweets in their hands.

AML leader stated that the full-fledged anti-government movement shall take place from August 1 to October 30. “Government wants someone to send it back home,” he said, further stating that he will not support any move that would harm democracy in the country.

Sheikh Rasheed said that the certain elements in the government were giving the impression as if democracy in the country was endangered. He added that if trucks would hit the roads in Pakistan, neither Minister of the Interior Chaudhary nor Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif would be backing PM Nawaz.

AML leader said that attempts of making a grand alliance shall be made by inviting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto by attending the meeting of the Opposition parties.
