Killing condemned

The Pakistan Civil Society Forum (PCSF), condemning the killing of Seraiki intellectual and human rights activist Zafar Lund, has declared this act an effort to snub the voice of the people of South Punjab. The Forum has also demanded an immediate booking of the responsible under the law.

The PCSF-a representative body of more than 50 national development and human rights organizations- in a statement issued on Friday said that Zafar has always been raising voice for the voiceless and particularly his principal stance against terrorism.

Zafar Lund, the Chief Executive of Hirrak Development Centre, was shot dead at the gate of his residence in Kot Addu a couple of days ago.

He was also the founder and chief organizer of Sindhu Bachao Tarla, a civil society forum. His last public appearance was on June 9 this year when he held a rally for the people displaced by the nuclear power project.
