RAWALPINDI - The law and order situation position in the district has been deteriorating for the last few years as different incidents of crimes including, robberies, purse snatching, vehicle lifting and theft have been increased considerably. This was observed in a meeting held under the chair of new Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani at Regional Police Headquarter here on Monday.   CPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan, SSP Operation Farooq Yaseen and all SSPs along with SDPOs of Rawalpindi also attended the meeting. It was further observed by the RPO that there were complaints of corruption and malpractices of the officers. Meanwhile, the officers also gave presentation on the crime situation in their respective area. RPO Nasir Khan Durrani warned the officers of zero tolerance for corruption. He urged the officers to ensure justice to common without any fear and favour. He said that the focus of all policing of Rawalpindi Region would be towards satisfaction of a common man and redressal of his grievances. RPO also ordered for free registration of cases, especially of property. Nasir Khan Durrani also laid down his improvement plan in the Police Department for the city district in which Rescue -15 will be modernised and be will made effective. He informed that A conciliatory committee would be constituted to resolve the petty dispute of the public and to sits as jury member for contested cases. RPO Nasir Khan Durrani also advised the officers for giving proper respect and courtesy to the elected members and to make sure that their genuine issues were handled promptly. In this meeting, it was also decided to establish Anti Car Lifting Cell in the district to control crimes.
