A performance worth Rs 37 billion

PPP Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said in a political talk show that there is no corruption in Pakistan Steel Mills and PIA and that he is ready to have a conversation with anyone in this regard. No one can prove corruption in Pakistan Steel Mills and PIA, he said. My question to the Senator is that if there is no corruption, than why are these companies going into such heavy losses? When the PPP government had come two years ago, Pakistan Steel Mills had more than seven billion rupees of hard cash in the company account. It now has a deficit of thirty (30) billion rupees. If that is not because of corruption, then the top management of these companies are not eligible to be in the positions they are in. Why are they not being removed? -MUBASHIR MAHMOOD, Karachi, June 10.
