One killed, 4 hurt as bandits go on rampage

FAISALABAD - A youth was killed while four others were injured critically during separate incidents of dacoity here Thursday besides bandits took away two cars, a truck loaded with 700 bags of pesticides and eight motorbikes. The source said that 25-year-old Shahzad Akhtar was going on his motorbike when at Iqbalnagar, in the remit of Satiana Road police, three armed bandits intercepted him. They bandits shot at and killed him when he tried to overpower them. The outlaws made off with the motorbike. In another incident on Chak Jhumra Road, two robbers shot at and injured Kamran critically when he was going somewhere on his motorbike. Similarly in another incident, Dilawar was also fired upon and injured by dacoits on Satiana Road on putting up resistance. Meanwhile, Athar Islam was on his way when three dacoits in Madina Town shot at and injured him critically. Separately, two armed dacoits barged in a spare parts shop at general bus stand and after looting cash and valuables shot at and critically injured Khalid Aziz, the shopkeeper. In another incident, some armed men looted cash and other valuables from the office of National Rural Support Programme located in Ghaziabad in the limits of Millat Town Police. Separately at Millat Town, three bandits snatched away a car from Maqbool, a factory driver. In another incident, Abid was deprived of his car on Jhang Road. Some 12 armed men stormed into the factory of Shahzad located on Sargodha Road and took away cloth worth Rs0.6 million. At 204/RB some outlaws snatched a truck loaded with 700 bags of pesticides from Nasir. Moreover dacoits at gunpoint snatched motor bikes from Abdul Hafeez on Sargodha Road, Tanveeer Haider in Gulberg, Zahid Ashraf on Sargodha Road, Ramzan at Noor Pur, Islam at Saleemi Chowk, Shahbaz at Zulfiqar colony, Waseem Ejaz at Lasani pully and Saleem in Razaabad. The police have failed to trace out any of the single case.
