Pakistan suffers Rs365b loss per year, says Ghurki

ISLAMABAD (APP) Federal Minister for Environment Samina Khalid Ghurki on Thursday said Pakistan is enduring about Rs 365 billion per year losses due to environment degradation. She said this while sharing her views with Ambassador of Argentine Mr. Rodolfo J. Martine- Saravia and Regional Director of Galileo, S.A Mr. Juan Ojanguren who called on her on Thursday. Pakistan is worlds largest consumer of CNG and the government is taking maximum steps to make Shaheed Benazir Bhutto CNG Buses Project as landmark initiative of the PPP Government for the best interest of the people. This will be the great addition of mass transit system in the country and people of Pakistan would be able to enjoy clean and cheap transportation facilities, she said. The government aspires to introduce Pakistan as a clean and green country in the global community and also attaches high importance to introducing alternative energy resources in the country, she said.
