LAHRORE City District Government, City Traffic Police in collaboration with the University of Lahore have strongly recognised the services being rendered by the Emergency Service Rescue 1122 by paying rich tributes to the rescuers. A MoU was signed for development of 'Risk Free Lahore between Rescue 1122, City District Government, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and the University of Lahore on this occasion. The Station House Officers, Emergency Officers, Community Safety Officers including two females namely Hina Yaqoob and Afshan, Lead Fire Rescuers and Rescuers were also awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates over their marvellous performance. In this regard, a fascinating ceremony was organised here at Aiwan-i-Iqbal where DCO Ahad Khan Cheema, Commissioner Lahore Nadeem Hassan Asif, DG Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer, CTO SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin, SSP Admin Tariq Abbas Qureshi, Risk Free Lahore DEO Dr Ahmed Raza Tahir, acting president LCCI Sheikh Muhammad Asghar, Chairman University of Lahore M Abdul Rauf, Chief Scientist Ch Muhammad Ashraf flanked by hundreds of rescuers clothed with green uniform graced the occasion. The DG Rescue Rizwan Naseer, in his inaugural remarks, said in very start the authorities concerned considered him an optimistic mad but he wanted to have a system, which may provide indiscriminate services to the masses, that had been established now with the name of Rescue 1122. Now rescuers are seen with respect and honour and their services must be recognised on broader perspective across the country. DCO Ahmed Cheema said the government had fulfilled its responsibility by establishing the Rescue 1122 as Emergency Department. These rescuers are the real asset of the country, who must be appreciated at each level, he said. Sh M Asghar said the trading community and LCCI will extend their efforts to support Rescue 1122. He said with the emergence of Rescue Department, almost 90 per cent affected lives, of accidents, fire injuries and other emergencies, had been saved. Chairman University of Lahore Prof M Abdul Rauf said his university was all set to assist the Service, adding a large number of students voluntarily had been discharging their duties by establishing a special cell with a purpose to serve the mankind. He said special trauma center would be established at one of the Universitys units where special arrangements of air ambulance service and special disastrous management would be ensured.
