PESHAWAR, June 16 (INP): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday issued stay order against recent increase in power tariff by Rs1.06 and suspended notification issued by Nepra in this regard. A two-member bench of the PHC comprising Justice Ijaz Afzal and Justice Maddah Alam heard a petition filed by chairman of Human Rights South Asia against Nepra increased electricity tariff by Rs1.06. The court issued stay order and suspended notification issued by Nepra in this regard after hearing remarks from lawyers of both sides. The court issued notice to Nepra and Pepco to appear before the court in the next hearing.
