ANF recovers 6.75-kg heroin at BB airport

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in a successful operation has recovered 6.75-kg heroin at Benazir Bhutto International Airport and arrested two accused, informed ANF spokesman on Sunday.
According to him, ANF received information that some international drug smugglers /traffickers would try to smuggle huge quantity of heroin to the United Kingdom (UK) through cargo from Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
Taking quick action, ANF officials pulled up their socks by enhancing vigilance at the airport, he said, adding that the force intercepted a consignment booked for Manchester, UK, by Paradise Booking Company, Rawalpindi.
He said that the consignment comprising of 74 cartons containing household items including ladies garments and crockery. On thorough search of consignment, 6.750 kg of fine quality heroin was recovered by the ANF officials. The heroin that was tactfully concealed in the ladies garments is of billion of rupees in international market, he said.
Two accused including owner of the company namely Shaukat Mehmood son of Muhammad Sharif and Tariq Hussain son of Naik Muhammad have been arrested at the spot and an FIR has been registered against them while further investigations were in progress.
