RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said on Sunday the army in coordination with the navy and air force is fully configured and prepared to thwart any military aggression against the country.

Addressing the concluding session of Army War Games (exercise Azm-e-Nau-IV) that commenced at National Defence University, Islamabad, on June 3, Kayani reiterated army's resolve to meet all future challenges squarely.

The army chief added the military success depended on being fully prepared, support of the people of Pakistan and other state institutions.

He also appreciated dedication and commitment of all the participants of the exercise whose contributions during the war game were of immense professional value.

Along with Kayani, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt attended the concluding session.

Exercise Azm-e-Nau-IV was attended by a large number of senior officers of the military.

During the games, spanning over two weeks, strategic and operational plans were crystallised and validated for developing a comprehensive response.

Operational plans of the air force were also finalised in close coordination with the army. The game was the culmination of a series of such exercises, which have cumulatively contributed towards operational preparedness to meet the evolving threat.
