Labourer killed in Rawalpindi




RAWALPINDI -

A 24-year-old labourer was reportedly beaten to death with iron rods by two of his colleagues in an under-construction Airport Housing Society within the precincts of Police Station Airport on Sunday.
The two unknown labourers managed to escape from the crime scene whereas police recovered the blood spotted two iron rods and shifted the dead body to District Headquarter Hospital for postmortem. The deceased identified as Muhammad Rasheed hailed from Toba Tek Singh. According to police, the three labourers including Muhammad Rasheed have been working in an under-construction building located at sector 4, street 10 of Airport Housing Society and used to live there after finishing daily work. He said that a quarrel occurred among three labourers during which the two unknown labourers killed Muhammad Rasheed with two iron rods. On the other hand, fire erupted in a public transport vehicle near GHQ owing to electric short-circuit. Rescue 1122 reached the spot and extinguished fire. No casualty was reported.
