 The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Health, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, has directed PDMA and the district administration of the affected areas to speed up the overall relief and recovery activities for the rehabilitation of affectees in the flood-affected areas throughout the province. “A detailed survey should be carried out to assess the damages done by the flood throughout the province,” he added.

Directives to this effect were issued here Sunday. Yousafzai said that various teams had been engaged since Friday who visited the affected areas and preliminary reports prepared to properly know the hardships of the affected people and the damages. The reports indicated that the affected areas are fast coming back to normalcy and the water level is fast coming down and hopefully by tomorrow the situation will be totally normal.

Shaukat said, “We are not oblivious of our responsibilities and would not take rest until the affected are rehabilitated.” He said that resources had been released to deputy commissioners for relief and recovery plan. It is the people-owned government which mandated PTI with the clear agenda for a change and therefore, we would not leave the hapless alone and the resources of national exchequer would be spent on them.

He assured that in the light of the survey reports, the government would spare no moment to resolve the problems of the afectees and undertake the rehabilitation process throughout the province.

Meanwhile, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has formed a committee comprising President of Peshawar Club Nasir Hussain, President of Khyber Union of Journalist Arshad Aziz Malik and senior journalists Muhamad Riaz and Syed Bukhar Shah to identify the state land or other suitable land near Ring road and GT road.

They have been asked to interact with the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Javed Marwat to formally expedite the process of identification of site for the alternate Press Club Peshawar.
